Maori banknote for one pound: Ko te Peeke o Aotearoa, kotahi pauna, issued by King Tawhiao, possibly in the 1880s.
Māori King Tāwhiao established a bank, Te Peeke o Aotearoa, in 1886 which operated unitl circa 1905.
