Poster advertising railways services. Illustration shows schoolchildren moving about on a railway station platform, in front of a steam locomotive.
The New Zealand Centennial celebrations in 1940 lasted from January to 16 November. A programme booklet at Eph-A-HISTORY-1940 shows that fixtures for the Canterbury province were concentrated in the period of 8-15 April, with pageantry, displays, and the National Maori celebrations for the South island. Other events took place in Canterbury in the longer period March-June 1940.
