Description

The scene is the bedroom of Prime Minister, Helen Clark and her husband, Professor Peter Davis. They are sitting reading in their beds; Peter Davis is hugging a stuffed bear as he reads a book called 'Winnie's & Pooh' and Helen Clark's book is called 'Living with patchwork'. Her bed is covered with a patchwork quilt which includes the word 'GOVT'. The reference is to the way in which proportional representation can have the effect of creating a somewhat patchwork-like government, which in this case includes Winston Peters, Leader of New Zealand First, as Minister of Foreign Affairs outside Cabinet.
