Looking west up Manners Street, Wellington, towards the Willis Street intersection, showing the Union Bank of Australia (left) in Willis Street, and the Queens Head Hotel on Boulcott Street (right of centre). The verandah of the Criterion Family Hotel may be seen at the extreme right. Note the muddy streets, the chickens in Manners street, and the carts outside the Criterion at right.
