Description: Shows farm buildings and the farmhouse of the Waikaraka Station. There is a range of hills in the background. Notes on the back identify, from left 'Stock yard, cow shed and wood shed', 'Lutomus (?) house' (a neighbouring house); 'Poultry house'; 'The House'; 'Shepherds house and kitchen'; 'Dairy & horse'; 'Water'; 'Tent'. Another note states 'The distant hills are thickly wooded - but in at the back of them is a fine open country - The land all round the House is open & fertile - the bush being but a narrow belt about a mile long, following windings of a nice creek of good water.' Description: Depicts a farmyard scene with Auckland Mayor John Luxford as a farmer ('Old Man Luxford') leaning on a fence and reading a newspaper. The farmyard contains a number of traditional farm animals (pigs, cows, chickens, ducks and a farm dog) that are being terrorised by baby crocodiles. Traditional stock feed has been replaced with 'Best Algae'. Brown's Island is visible in the background. Refers to two news stories, the first that the Auckland Council was considering farming Brown's Island and the second that farmed crocodiles 'pay dividends'.
