- Description
In the first of three frames a policeman interrupts a Tongan man who is spit-roasting a dog and tells him that what he is doing is disgusting. In the second frame Health Minister, Tony Ryall, walks past carrying a tray on which lies a roasted dog that represents the 'National Health Board plan'. He says cheerfully 'bon appetit NZ'. In the last frame the policeman suggests more salt. Refers to the killing and cooking of a dog by a Tongan family in Auckland. The SPCA is calling for a law change for a practice that is normal in Tonga and which is not illegal in New Zealand, just culturally different.
