- Description
Two mountaineers have just reached the summit of Mount Everest. As they pause for a moment to savour their victory, one of them wonders aloud, to his companion, if it is just his imagination or if Mount Everest is getting higher. Beneath the snow can be seen the spooky outlines of former climbers who have failed to reach the summit but who are contributing to its height. There has been much focus on Mount Everest recently as couble amputee climber, Mark Inglis, has just succeeded in reaching the summit. There has been some criticism that climbers are more intent on reaching the top than on helping other climbers in distress.
