- Description
A Chinese panda covers its ears as a rocket from North Korea screams overhead. Refers to the threat of North Korea testing nuclear weapons. There is a play on the words 'bear' as in 'panda bear' and 'bear' in the sense of 'putting up with'. The words 'to international pressure' appear along the right-hand side of the cartoon suggesting that Korea must bend to such pressure. Refers to the news that North Korea has defied international warnings and gone ahead with a controversial rocket launch. State media said a satellite had been put into orbit and was transmitting data and revolutionary songs. American President Obama says that North Korea has broken the rules once more by testing a rocket that could be used for a long-range missile.
