The scene shows a horse race in which two of the contestants, Don Brash, Leader of the National Party, and Winston Peters, Leader of New Zealand First, ride neck and neck. Looking respectively cheerfully triumphant and somewhat frenzied they gallop past Prime Minister, Helen Clark who is sitting back to front on her horse looking grim and wondering 'Why do I have a bad feeling about this?' Refers to the race in the run up to the election with National drawing ahead of Labour in the polls and Winston Peters taking the role of kingmaker once more because neither of the two major parties can win a majority without going into a coalition with New Zealand First.
Typo in cartoon title - 'us' should read 'as'.
