Description

12 images taken during a Maori Women's Welfare League fund raising garden party for the Maori Education Foundation, held at the Tinakori Road residence of the Hon J R Hanan, Minister of Maori Affairs. Frames 3-6 show Miria Simpson (wearing a hat). Frames 9 and 10 show the British High Commissioners wife (Lady Yvonne Cumming-Bruce) on the far right. Frames 9-12 show Mrs M Love on the right (with glasses) teaching Louise Carkeek to weave flax. All photographs taken by Ans Westra.
