The cartoon shows a battered and bruised President Bainimarama of Fiji sitting on a branch representing 'diplomacy' which he is about to cut off with a saw thus endangering himself. On the ground below are two other branches representing 'commonwealth' and 'democracy'. He wonders if New Zealand and Australia will ever learn. In the most recent row in the continuing efforts of NZ and Australia to get Bainimarama to hold a democratic election he has declared that interference by the Australian and New Zealand governments in Fiji's judiciary undermines the judiciary. This has resulted in Bainimarama ordering the top diplomats of both New Zealand and Australia back home.
