- Description
Two Maize moths in flight, shown with pupa and caterpillar. According to artist's notes 'Feeds on the inside of the ears of the Indian Corn or Zea Mays, while it is in its tender or milky state. When full fed they come out and go into the ground, (23rd Augt. bred the 8th Sept). Is common in the cornfields settled on the corn in the day, flies late in the evening, and first of the night'.
