A porter carries the luggage for a couple of Americans. The man asks him how long he has been a porter and the porter says since the kiwi hit 75 cents in the dollar and that before that he was an exporter. Two little characters in the bottom right corner comment that normally you would expect someone to be a porter BEFORE being an exporter and that New Zealand is a funny little country. Refers to the upward rising dollar in the New Zealand economy at this time. By 24 July it had hit 80 cents in the dollar. Some exporters were finding things difficult.
