Description

The cartoon shows an attack by Vikings somewhere in ancient Britain. One of a group of Britons whose heads are stuck into the ground on pikes comments that if this was 2010 they would have indigenous rights. Refers to a parallel scenario when British colonists arrived in New Zealand; now in 2010 Maori can claim indigenous rights. Refers to the Government's decision to endorse the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) but Prime Minister John Key has said it would have no practical effect.
