The cartoon shows Minister for Energy Gerry Brownlee making a speech in which he expresses puzzlement that people are struggling with high power bills. A man arrives with the 'good news' that 'state power companies are paying the govt record dividends...' The Minister of Energy finds the news untimely and shoos the man away. Refers to the fact that the government is taking big profits from the electricity state-owned enterprises (SOEs) without electricity prices for consumers being lowered.
