Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd brandishes a stick and runs towards a family of refugees who are wading to shore from a boat telling them that they have to go home and that he is even meaner and tougher than Mr Howard. Refers to the influx of boat people mainly from Sri Lanka and Afghanistan which has swung elections in the past, and that has rattled the government of Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, a year before another election. Rudd's government has not taken a hard line on illegal immigration.
