Description

Shows two green parrots on tree foliage, with flowers and berries. The tree may be imaginary, but may be an approximation of puriri.

Believed to be Heaphy's first New Zealand watercolour

Number 12 in the New Zealand Company's list of paintings received. Undated but received prior to 1842.
