- Description
Two Ministry of Defence officials interview a monkey for a job. As the monkey cavorts, scratches its head and drinks a cup of tea one of the men tells him that with a C.V. as good as this he is a 'shoo-in for the job, Mr Monkey-out-of-us'. Refers to the Stephen Wilce scandal. Wilce's credentials as the nation's top defence scientist didn't stand up to examination by a 60 Minutes television programme. He was exposed as a fantasist ill-qualified for the job, and has since resigned. His CV claims and suitability for a top-security clearance were supposed to have been vetted by the SIS.
