Description

A Fifa World Cup referee walks out of the 'Referees' Locker Room' wearing dark glasses and tapping a blind man's walking stick. He hopes that the 'teams enjoy a joke'. Refers to the Fifa World Cup in South Africa which ran from 11th June to 11th July 2010. In March a decision was made not to use goalline video technology in the 2010 World Cup. Purists say 'why should we have technology in a game where the main part should be humans - players and referees'. FIFA president Sepp Blatter apologized for refereeing mistakes that have blighted the 2010 World Cup. A call during the England-Germany game, in particular, could lead to reconsideration of video technology.
