In the top frame President Obama explains that 'in mid-term elections during a recession... hell, we were always going to get our tail feathers singed..' In the lower frame is a featherless chicken with a smoking tail - Obama says 'mmm - mmm, something smells good!' Refers to the swing against Obama with an expected shift from Democratic control in the House and Senate to a Republican majority. However people have pointed out the similarities between President Obama and President Clinton, who had a similar approval rating when the Republicans took control of the House in the 1994 midterm elections, but went on to win a second term by a large majority.
