A modern reconstruction, showing Tamati Waka Nene signing the treaty in front of James Busby, Captain William Hobson, and other British officials and witnesses. Some Maori signatories are assembled on the left.
Reproduced as a photolithograph for a presentation plate, Centenary number, of "New Zealand free lance", October 16, 1939. Only a few figures identified (see C-033-007).
There are some inaccuracies in this view. Contemporary accounts do not mention a second table for participants to sign on, as shown here.
