Description

Photographs of New Zealand and overseas ships, many made for publication in the New Zealand Free Lance, ca 1900s-1950s.

New Zealand related images include: Wharf at Opua, Bay of Islands; wharf at Helensville; Niagara and Zealandic moored at Queens Wharf; Rangatira; SS Pakeha (recently launched); steamer Matatua; Waimana.

Also: Themistocles and Euripides, both recently taken over by Shaw, Savill & Albion for NZ-England service; immigrants disembarking from Mahana at Wellington, Jul 1920; port at Napier and Westport; eastern entrance to Queen Charlotte Sound.
