- Description
Shows a kiwi standing in the foreground, with a beach behind, and three Maori huts on the left. There is a coconut palm tree at the right and possibly toetoe to the left. Appears to be a very early drawing of a kiwi, probably from a stuffed specimen, with the background landscape derived from some of artist Louis de Sainson's lithographs of Maori villages.
