A group of women at Carters Beach, Buller Bay, Westport. The women are wearing summer dresses or swimming costumes, and are in a semi-circle around three handbags on the sand. They appear to be artificially posed, possibly for advertising purposes. Photograph taken in Feb 1953, by K V Bigwood for the National Publicity Studios.
