Description

Colour transparencies of birdlife taken by James (Jim) Watt in Chile during the Totorore expedition, and after Watt left the expedition, circa Jul-Dec 1983.

Set features bird images including great grebes 'huala' (at Talcan Island) and silvery grebes, winter plovers flying, a male ringed kingfisher "martin pescador" perched on a branch (at Pudeto), steamer ducks (including at Reloncavi Estuary), a chicken, a large colony of [oystercatchers?], chiloe widgeon [sic], lapwing eggs (at Guafo Island), grey phalarope, black-browed mollymawk, a turkey vulture in flight, and plovers (Punta Arenas). Also contains one image of a glacier seen from a commerical airliner.

Inscriptions: Note from depositor reads: "'Totorore'- this series [sic] were emptied into a plastic bag from a slide carousel - jumbled. Done a rough sort - like with like where poss."
