Description: Colour transparencies of birdlife, sailing, and local scenes taken by James (Jim) Watt in Chile during the Totorore expedition, circa Jul-Dec 1983. Set includes image of 'Totorore' crew member Jay Nelson with giant "nalda" leaf (off Guafo Island), shots taken from on board the 'Totorore' (including with captain Gerry Clark) as well as moored (at Sotomo), with the yacht 'Negofol', and near Guafo Island lighthouse (faro). Views from the boat include Calbuco and Osorno volcanoes, a church, and buildings at Sotomo [Reloncavi?], a mussel boat, and a passenger ferry. Images of birds are of a black-browed mollymawk, dolphin gulls, Magellanic penguins (one image of penguins including expedition member Luis Espinoza), and great phalaropes. Also contains an image of shipwreck detritus and a photograph of a chart showing Guafo Island. Description: Colour transparencies of birdlife and local scenes taken by James (Jim) Watt in Chile during the Totorore expedition, circa Jul-Dec 1983. Bird species in this set include surfbirds, turnstones, sanderlings, Inca terns, black-browed mollymawks, a dead narrow [thin]-billed prion "belcherii", pied shags, Hudsonian godwits "part of 1000 flock" (at Quellon), a churette, black-necked swans (at Pumalin), and cormorants "Oliveaceus" (at Puerto Montt). Images from Valdiva include the town seen from a bridge over the river and a stall at the market selling jerseys, and the Hotel Naguilan. Also contains an image of two small boats by the jetty for the museum [Valdivia? Isla Tenglo?]. Description: Colour transparencies of birdlife, sailing, and local scenes taken by James (Jim) Watt in Chile during the Totorore expedition, circa Jul-Dec 1983. Set contains images of winter plovers, Inca terns, [patu colorado?](at Pudeto), chimango caracara in flight, teal [ducks?] at Teal Cove (Guafo Island), [geese?], grey phalaropes, a white-rumped swallow, white-winged coots, a South American tern in flight, a black-browed mollymawk in flight, pintails (at Pumalin Park), a turkey vulture, and hooded gulls (including an non-breeding adult and a juvenile in flight). Also contains images of Gerry Clark on board the 'Totorore', fishing boats unloading at Angelmo (Puerto Montt), and a truck with passengers riding in the tray. Set features bird images including great grebes 'huala' (at Talcan Island) and silvery grebes, winter plovers flying, a male ringed kingfisher "martin pescador" perched on a branch (at Pudeto), steamer ducks (including at Reloncavi Estuary), a chicken, a large colony of [oystercatchers?], chiloe widgeon [sic], lapwing eggs (at Guafo Island), grey phalarope, black-browed mollymawk, a turkey vulture in flight, and plovers (Punta Arenas). Also contains one image of a glacier seen from a commerical airliner.
