The man has 'N' on his shirt front and the woman has 'Z' on her dress, (NZ). They say that the great economic package they have received will not change their way of life and that they will continue as usual until October (the next election) but even then they may not be able to afford a car. All of these policies were regarded as a betrayal of Labour's left-wing policy platform. Quantity: 1 original cartoon(s). Description: Shows Prime Minister, David Lange, in six cameos which start with his jumping with rage on a newspaper reporting the 'French saboteur flown to France', being outraged about this and then realising that the EEC negotiations are coming up and that France could sabotage New Zealand's chances of a butter quota if he takes immediate umbrage. He ends by calming down and compromising by deciding to leave taking France to task over the saboteurs until later. Refers to the sinking of the Rainbow Warrior and the killing of a man who was on board by French saboteurs who were trying scare tactics because of New Zealand's stance on French atomic tests on Mururoa atoll. The two saboteurs Major Alain Mafart and Captain Dominique Prieur were imprisoned in New Zealand and then released to spend the next three years on a remote French Pacific island. France also paid $7 million in compensation for the bombing. This cartoon shows the reaction of the Prime Minister when he heard that one of the saboteurs had been flown back to France for medical tests. Quantity: 1 original cartoon(s).
