Established in 1841 and part of the Wellington Diocese, St James is the oldest Anglican church in the Hutt Valley. Vestry minutes and other records relating to the period 1915-1946 were destroyed in the fire which gutted St James Church in 1946

Some crucial records have been destroyed or damaged by fire. See inventory for details.
