Description: Map of the city of Wellington photographed by an unknown photographer probably in the 1900s Ca dates suggested by the reserves. That part of the Town Belt appropriated by the Wellington Provincial Council in 1872 for hospital and educational reserve, is still part of the Town Belt. Native reserves established in 1847 are shown, as is the Weslayan College land granted to the Methodists by Governor Gray in 1852. This land was incorporated into the Botanic Garden in 1872.
