Description: Insurance policy document made out for Ronald Lindsay Weir, a solicitor of Maryborough, insuring him against personal accident while driving a motor vehicle, for the sum of five hundred pounds. At top centre is the portrait image of Tawhiao. At top right are two Queensland impressed duty stamps, rubber-stamped in red. Shows a cartoon of two men talking about a labourer who had a workplace accident and got a big compensation payout for breaking his leg. Dated from the time of the introduction of the Workers' Compensation Act and the Employers' Liability Act. The Workers' Compensation Act was passed in 1900, and amended in 1901, 1902, 1903 and 1905.
