Collected by those who worked at the unit in Wellington. Photographs taken circa 1960s to circa 1989 by unidentified photographer(s). Some images taken circa 1990s and circa 2000 during Unit reunions. Some (possibly many) taken by Frank Mahoney who worked as a photographer for the Department of Education, and by former staff members. Other negative format images show the Unit/Division staff practising waiata, an in-service training day for teachers, social gatherings, and a powhiri at Hamilton Teachers College. Further negatives show the work of the Visual Production Unit, in particular the 'Education 100 years 1877-1977' exhibition in a school hall to mark the centennial of the Education Act. Identified solo portraits show Dave Francis, [?] MacPherson, and Doug Gunn, taken circa 1973-1976; plus 'Unit mug shots' taken Christmas 1975.
