There are details of the transportation pageant and an account of the history of transport. Description: Pamphlet shows photographic portraits of Miss Gladys Russell, Eastbourne's first Carnival Queen (the Football Club candidate), and three other candidates: Miss V Shortt (Eastbourne Borough Council candidate), Mrs V Jowett (Plunket Society candidate), Miss M Hull-Brown (Combined Sports candidate). The order of events for the procession and ceremony is given. There are advertisements for George Mee (chemist and druggist), Warnes & Stephenson (printers), Watson's No. 10 whisky, the Royal Exchange Insurance, Mayer & Kean (medal makers), and the Central Brewery at 19 Quin Street, between Ghuznee and Dixon Streets.
