Description

Collection comprises material collected, collated, and annotated by the New Zealand Parliamentary Library, with content dating from circa 1769 to 1930. Items include:

- 11 volumes of press cuttings relating to the Paris Peace Conference, 1919-1921. Volumes numbers held in the collection are I, II, III, IV, V, VI, X, XI, XII, XIV, and XVI.

- Two volumes relating to the Anglican General Synod 1859-1895 and 1898-1904 and two volumes relating to the Christchurch General Synod of 1855-1892 and 1893-1906.

- Two scrapbooks relating to New Zealand articles and images, primarily in the Illustrated London News, 1769-1866.

- And five annotated volumes on a number of topics, including a typescript manuscript 'Modern Samoa; a study of dependency government and of racial and cultural change' by Felix M. Keesing, Research Staff, Institute of Pacific Relations, circa 1929; 'On the meteorology of New Zealand' by Brian Drury, ca 1855; 'Ko Nga Waiata a Rawiri', 1848; 'Court of Appeal rules of procedure', circa 1882; and 'The bye-laws of the loyal Wellington lodge' 1875.

Accruals include reports and extracts from the New Zealand Flax Commission of 1871, the autobiography of Arthur Henry Gibson and copies of Civilian Narratives, composed between 1945 and 1965, from the War History Branch of the Department of Internal Affairs.

Later accruals include a range of research and reference material relating to New Zealand in the form of maps, photographs, printed matter, newspaper clippings, and bookplates.
