Collection comprises electronic documents created or acquired by Jock Edwards in pursuit of his research interests. Includes digitised scans of St David's Presbyterian Church (Petone) baptismal register accompanied by documents which give an overview and index data contained in the register; a digital image of the Roll of Honour for the New Zealand Post Office Coastwatchers killed in 1942 after capture by Japanese forces; a History of AeRadio (aviation radio operations) in New Zealand and the Pacific; and the diary of Alexander Edward's voyage from Scotland to New Zealand on board the ship Corinthic in 1920.

Description: Comprises digitised scans of the Baptismal Register of St David's Presbyterian Church (Petone) 1909 to 1999, and electronic documents which support discovery of information within the register. Includes spreadsheets which index family or surname, date of birth and baptismal date, and a 'Welcome' document which gives information on the use of the indexes. Each index entry notes the relevant page number of the register. Arrangement: The 'Welcome' document is linked to three of the spreadsheets. Description: Digital photograph of an illustrated Roll of Honour in memory of eight radio operators of the New Zealand Post Office and one radio operator of the Gilbert and Ellice Islands Colony who were executed by the Japanese Army on Betio Islet, Tarawa Atoll, and on Ocean Island during 1942. Coastwatch radio operators listed are Henry Rexton Cropper Hearn, Arthur Clarence Heehan, John Joseph McCarthy, Arthur Ernest McKenna, Reginald George Morgan, Thomas Colin Murray, Thomas Colin Murray, Clifford Arnold Pearsall, Allan Leicester Taylor, Ronald Third. Credit note on the Roll of Honour shows it was designed and drawn by Len W. Black in Wellington 1946. Relationship complexity - Related to Roll of Honour Memorial Plaque in the Auckland Coast Radio Station History held at Archives New Zealand Auckland office (R11811029) On 15th October 1942 22 New Zealand coastwatchers and civilians were executed by the Japanese Army on Betio Islet, Tarawa Atoll, Gilbert Islands. Eight were New Zealand Post Office radio operators. Another radio operator Ron Third was on Banaba or Ocean Island when it was occupied by the Japanese Army and died in captivity in 1942. The Roll of Honour was exhibited in each of the New Zealand Coast Radio Stations until their closure in 1993. Quantity: 1 digital photograph(s).

Description: Document concerning the diary of Alexander Edward's voyage from Southampton, England, to Lyttelton, New Zealand on the Corinthic in 1920 written for his mother who lived in Forfar, Scotland. It contains an introductory note probably written at the time of the creation of the electronic document, plus embedded scanned pages of the diary, newspaper clipping and photographs.
