Description: Front cover shows a bus on the road above the wharf at Eastbourne, and the back cover shows the "delightful tea garden". The inside contains the timetable on a double spread. Message from Ali Carew of Eastbourne Historical Society, 28 March 2012: "... the photo montage on the front cover shows the Muritai, the largest of all the Eastbourne ferries, approaching Rona Bay wharf. But the Muritai had been sold to the Navy in 1940, nearly nine years earlier, and by January 1949 the Borough Council was about to axe the ferry service altogether after the one remaining ferry, the much-loved Cobar, had been damaged by fire the previous year. So [the] piece of ephemera from 1949 itself embodies a touch of nostalgia for a local institution that was about to disappear".
