Description

Interviews with individuals involved in Native Forest Action (NFA), an activist group that sought to end logging of native timber on Crown land on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand in the mid to late 1990s. NFA was a constantly evolving group that never had a formal membership, and the activists were often outside the mainstream at the time of their actions. Interviewees were Dean Baigent-Mercer, Annette Cotter, Jen Coleman, Nicky Hager, Garrick Martin, Pat McNamara, Kate McPherson, Peter Russell, Terry Sumner, Sean Weaver.

Project received Award in Oral History funding from Manatū Taonga Ministry for Culture and Heritage in 2006.
