Description

Correspondence between LJ Mackersey, his mother, other family members and friends, written mainly while LJ Mackersey was serving with the New Zealand Rifle Brigade on the Western Front. Includes a typescript of diaries he wrote during his time in England, France and serving in the Army of Occupation in Germany. Also includes diaries and other personal records - educational, professional and business. Note that the diary entries after his arrival in France in 1917 are blank. He later wrote up these entries in a letter to his mother (in folder MS-Papers-10251-27).The 'diary' transcript in folder MS-Papers-10251-32 integrated the diary and letter transcripts together.
