Description: Postcard soliciting a vote for candidate Joseph A Tole in the General Election of 1884 (held on a Tuesday). Tole promises to serve his constituents faithfully and hopes that he can rely on their vote "in this political crisis". This card is addressed in handwriting on the verso, to Charles Johns esqr, upholsterer, Karangahape Road, Newton. The one penny stamp is preprinted on to the card. The postmark date is 14 July 1884. Quantity: 1 colour art print(s). Physical Description: Letterpress and holograph on both sides of postcard, 80 x 125 mm. Provenance: Purchased from J R Mowbray, philatelist, Wellington, in 2013.
