These interviews were undertaken to gather information and recollections regarding the growth and institutionalisation of the discipline of geography in New Zealand. Both New Zealand and international geographers were interviewed about their geographic education at secondary and tertiary level, their teachers and their careers in the field. Interviews range in scope from the early 1930's to the present day.
