Comprises videos, sound recordings, compositions by de Lautour, correspondence, photographs, obituaries, programmes, periodicals, ephemera, personal papers, and newsclippings. Chiefly related to the performing and teaching career of Geoffrey de Lautour in New Zealand. There are also De La Tour Opera Group papers and recordings of various opera productions of the New Zealand Opera Company, De La Tour Opera Group and the New Opera of Wellington. Includes scores previously owned by Gil Dech, who accompanied de Lautour, and by Daisy Basham. Also includes a vocal score of Finian's Rainbow with newspaper cuttings inserted relating to de Lautour's production in 1968.

Provenance: Teresa de Latour is the wife of the late Geoffrey de Latour, and Karen Saunders is the daughter of Geoffrey de Lautour. Scores previously belonging to Daisy Basham and Gil Dech had been given by them to Geoffrey de Lautour.

Description: Recordings of Geoffrey de Lautour singing arias and songs, mostly accompanied by John Morrison on piano. Some arias are accompanied by orchestra. Place of recording - Place of recording Tracks 12-14 are excerpts from a live performance by the New Zealand Opera Company conducted by John Hopkins in 1959. Track 15 from a Television New Zealand production recorded at the Avalon Television Centre in 1981, with the NZSO, conducted by Vanco Cavdarski. All other tracks recorded at 18 Hildreth St, Karori, Dec 1995, with John Morrison on piano. Other - Tracks with piano recorded when Geoffrey de Lautour was aged 73 and after having had major heart surgery. These are the songs he wanted to be remembered for. Other - A non-commercial disc produced as a family initiative, which transfers material already deposited with the library (MSC-8692 and MSC-8693) onto compact disc.
