Description

Comprises a collection of postcards sent by members of the Herd and Dixon families (ca 1905-1916), photographs, photocopies of material collected by McGregor while researching the families. Also includes electronic transcriptions of the postcard messages.

Other families included in the collection, and frequent senders of postcards are the Beck, Carruthers, Hatch, Howie, James, Jennens, Jones, Kitchen, Leaver, Neill, Nicholson, Palliser, Redward, Reith, Rutherford, Somes, Speight, Spiro, Tom, Wallis, Waters and Woodman families. Photographic prints also include the Wellington City Silver Band at Wellington Zoo.
