Foster, Alan, active 1957-1987

Violinist in the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra from 1971, and freelance conductor in Dunedin, Christchurch and Wellington from the mid-1950s. He was co-founder of the Terrace String Ensemble, and a member of the Gezentsvey String Quartet. Conductor of the Wellington City Opera in 1987. Also involved in the Wellington Chamber Orchestra.
