Letters relating to Alexander Grant's early dance career in Wellington

Description: Comprises letters and envelopes regarding Grant's performances as part of variety concerts. Includes letters engaging Grant, outlines of rehearsal times, and thank you letters. Other letters include an invitation to the Valuation Department annual staff dance (1936), at which Grant was performing, an offer for tuition from David Devitt (1936), and notification of winning the Senior A.S.O.D. Scholarhip for 1941. Another letter is from Wellington Competitions Society to Mrs Grant regarding a commemorative cup to be named after Alexander Grant for the winners of the dancing championship (1946). Two envelopes (without contents) are also in this folder. Both are from England, one postmarked 1943, the other postmark date is illegible. Other - Envelopes from the Lazy Loafers and "Stonehurst, Chch" did not contain letters when donation received into ATL. Other - For programmes regarding performances mentioned in the letters from New Zealand Broadcasting Board, Assheton Harbord's pamtomime of "Aladdin", and the Wellington Competitions Society annual festival, 1941, see MS-Papers-11225-01.
