Dawson, John, -1905

Of Dawson's Hotel, Reefton. Native of Leinster, Ireland. Arrived in Otago from Isle of Man in 1850 with his brother. Operated business in Abbeyleik House, Dunedin, as hotelkeepers. Moved to the West Coast and in 1872 with John Henderson operated as storekeepers in Broadway. In 1873 took possession of Slattery's Hotel in Reefton.
