Also included are carte de visite portraits of Maori. Among the photographers whose work is shown are Herbert Deveril and Daniel Louis Mundy. Kaiapoi is a small town twelve miles from Christchurch; it is situated on the river Waimakariri, which is navigable for coasting vessels of light draft. Photographic Publishers, & C. Views and Landscapes of New Zealand. No 25 Wellington. This city, which is the seat of Government, is situated on the shore of Lambton Quay. There are several well constructed quays and piers stretching along the shore, and at the principal one of these, the Queen's Wharf, vessels of over 2000 tons register can lie with ease and safety. Relationship complexity - This image was originally taken by Mundy as part 1 of a 2 part panorama. The image that forms part 2 can be seen at 1/2-052466.
