Description: Bright red anemones. Mentone is either the small settlement on the east shore of Port Philip Bay, Melbourne, or, more probably, the nineteenth century anglicised version of Menton, French Riviera. The artist visited both Australia and the Mediterranean Other Titles - Menton Inscriptions: Recto - beneath image - signature; also title in both ink and pencil on a separate label.
