Born 1947 in Invercargill. NZ amateur actor, director, production assistant and writer, published `The warrior queen' in 1995; Daughter of George Brewer Northcote Pearson and Dorothy Groves. BA (Hons), English and History, MA(Hons) English Literature from Otago University. Formerly known as Barbara Neale but now married to Chris Else and together they operate Total Fiction Services, a writers' agency. Particularly known for having made publishable Alan Duff's `Once were warriors'.
