Description: Contains mainly figure studies including many left profiles of young women, and some English nature scenes. Includes some pages of writing, love poems, fortune-telling card interpretations, description of ideal man. The name William Purves is in large letters inside the back cover, and is the name of the protagonist of a short play in the sketchbook. Inscriptions: Inside front cover: Fanny Lydia Parker, March 29th, '63, Newtown.; Comments beside many of the portraits. Many signed F.L.P. Fanny Lydia Parker was the aunt of Frances Hodgkins, her sister being Rachel Owen Parker. Quantity: 1 sketchbook(s).
