Peter Pan Club (Auckland Star)

Operating in the 1920s. Members were the children who made up the readership of the children's page of the Auckland Star. The "Club Mother" was "Wendy" and the "Club Captain" was Peter Pan, based on the characters in J M Barrie's book.

Description: Certificate of membership in the Peter Pan Club associated with the children's page in the Auckland Star, shows a circular inset at top centre, of the statue of Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens. Along the top is a frieze showing a rabbit, a kiwi and two pixies. There are decorated columns down the sides and a cicular logo of the club at lower centre, showing a star, two hands shaking, and the motto "Be loyal".
