Pakia, Hirini Tipene, active 1863-1864

Nga Puhi chief. Of Te Roro, Whangarei, and Mangakahia. Son of Tipene Hari, who was fist cousin of Hongi Hika, grandson of Te Waharaupo. One of the Maori chiefs who visited England with Wililam Jenkins, a Wesleyan lay preacher. Tipene Hari claimed to succeed claim of his lands in 1866 (by which time Pakia was noted as being deceased).
